Alright... i never should have put my last level on a fighter! Now i have depleted spells... :(

Final Battle with miss Morag. I am out of offensive spells. Can't sleep.
I am level 19 Wizard/level 1 Fighter.
Linu as Henchgirl and i can summon Celestrial Avenger twice left.
Got one more time stop and one more horrid wilting
2 negative bursts and 1 finger of death.
not very good is it? can't go back.

Please can i have hints on this battle?
Is this like the Desther battle?
Knock out those annoying lizards praying?>
I hate the spike wall that kills everything. Only chance is to summon something into the Morag area.
Bit weak on melee really...
I've tried this once... this is what happened:

1/ Cast Time Stop
2/ Horrid Wilt + 2x Negative Burst to kill half the praying lizards

Now i am stuck... Morag beams herself in
Her two "hands" come along...
I can kill one of them... but the other kills my summon
so i summon another celestrial avenger
linu just sits there and cry
expect better from a high level cleric!!!

what to do?
why does clicking on the statue do weird things?

-err the you have to kill the statue to stop the blades....
kill each lizard man with the appropriate attack type (they have coherent names to the protyection to morag the offer)

after killing the two 'hands' and the statue waste them stupid praying ppl and then kill morag! she only has recieves damage from the type that's protection against prayer is killed.
comprendes?
<s>Felix</s>

I found myself in a similar situation the first time i reached Morag - and found a cheesy way to succes

You can lure the hands out first ( without 'activating' Morag) and defeat them. Then lure Morag out through the door - run past her and close the door. You will now have all the time in the world to destroy the statues and 'guardian-lizards'.

You don't actually have to do a lot here. Key trick is to do 2 things.

1) Kill the cleric with an attack that you use.

2) Kill Morag with that attack.

With this in mind, maybe that will help you formulate a plan. You don't actually have to take on the Hands (unless you can't avoid them or your AC isn't good enough to protect you long enough to kill Morag). The statue controls the blade barrier protecting the other clerics behind Morag, but you can do this one of two ways if you got it. Horrid Wilting may be able to take out the 1 cleric you are trying to take out. Once that cleric is out of the way, she can be hurt and killed. But you have to be quick. I have a Ranger and I use scrolls (Gate and protection) and throw the Balor in the back. He takes out the clerics (usually with destruction) and then I can wail away on Morag with my sword. I never need to fight the hands or that other rock creature. Good luck to you, and if you have problems, you can save the game and then leave and come back (preferrably after Linu is dead, or have her leave your service, cause if you come back into the game different, she will be hostile).

I read that one guy cast Horrid Wilting on the praying guys, and they all died. Try that. Once their dead, Morag is easy.

Try going back to the dragon room. You may be able to rest there.

Unfortunately, the game removes the entry to the dragon's lair once you get to Morag's lair. The only way I have found to rest is to save the game and export my character. Then to import character either into a prior savegame, or to go online and multiplay in another mod. In either case, I can then rest. Once I am rested up, export character again and then reload the Morag save game. I import my character into that game all fresh and ready for battle. Oh well, what are you going to do? I don't remember if I killed all of the clerics with Horrid wilting, but I do know that I hurt the magic one. Once that one was dead I used scrolls on Morag. That worked good too. Since my character is a Ranger though, I find it much easier to just walk in the back, whack the cleric of the sword and then whack Morag with my sword. I don't worry too much about the blade barrier because I took Dodge and Evasion. I either take 1/2 damage or none at all. Since everything disappears when Morag goes, it doesn't make much sense to concentrate on anything but Morag. Well, unless you need a lot of xp or something.

I think the updates have changed that aspect of the game. Someone else suggested that same tactic before and I tried it. It worked on 1 of the Hands, but when I tried it against Morag, she was able to open the doors. Since I hadn't killed the clerics yet, she whacked me good. lol. Luckily, I had a whole slew of heal potions. I survived long enough to get into the back room area and take out the clerics. It took me forever to realize that I wasn't doing any damage to them, except for the one that protected Morag from the sword. Once that one went down, I noticed that Morag could be hurt. She came up and attacked me and I got an attack of opportunity on her. I saw the point damage come up and saw her health was at slightly damaged or something. The rock creature took me out while all this was happening, but that was where I realized what I had to do.

I got to Morag at lvl 20, fighter, with Tomi as henchman. Since it was an area of "permadeath", I didn't want to let the lil' ole Tomi get himself killed (he'd die for sure), so I told him to hold his ground in the hallway. The I ran to Morag's room and slammed the door close, so Tomi was "safe". Least I could do for a trusty hencman, who served me since the first time I met him :D

So Morag gave me her speech and then came at me. Heh, takes more then that to impress me, I've killed tougher opponents then her. Thwacked her and.. nothing, not a dent. Looked around and saw the other bunch, figured that they are probably behind the fact that I can't hurt Morag. There was that blade barrier, but I just ran through it - and that was the only thing which did any real damage to me, however, I was pretty loaded on Heal potions, so this was not an isse. I smacked there 2 priests - the one protecting against swords and another protecting against "lesser races" (I'll show her "lesser race"). Then I ran back "out", through blade barrier. I got some more damage, which was quickly fixed by another Heal potion.

Hands of Morag came at me, and it took me 3 Improved Disarms to get their weapons and stash these in my pack (1 flaming greataxe and 2 short swords), after that I just slapped them around a bit, and then they fell over dead. The minor damage I got I regenerated back, 2 x Ring of Power were handy for that. And then I went against Morag... All I did really was going into Parry Mode in front of her. Her spells weren't any real issue to me with the resists and HP and regen I had. When she hit me in melee, the hit was Parried and my fighter thwacked her back with Riposte. I went in Parry Mode just to show to Morag how futile her attempts at me were heheh :D There were other sad things too, that Grey Render and something else, but I've been slapping these around already for some 9 levels, so these I didn't even consider as a threat, they went down faster then being able to say "Whoops".

I had bigger fight with Klauth probably then with Morag. Yes, I had the orb for Klauth on me, but where's the fun fighting almost dead dragon, eh? Nah, I smacked him from "hero" to "zero" and then "threw" the orb on top of his corpse.

Avatar 09-24-2002 09:12 AM

Klauth was a wooossss.... it took me one finger of death to kill it... oops

magnetism 09-24-2002 12:30 PM

Yeah gold dragon was tougher than klauth or morag...

but the whole final battle whould be kinda rough for a spell caster I dont know I used a monk..
