Hello Everybody,
well im supposed to be getting NwN for a b'day prezzy in a month or two (cant remember when my own b'day is, how pathetic) and i wanted to get some info on it, i.e what does it play like, how long is it (thats a bit too personal innit?) and also what does the game need to run, i know it says it on the site but a lot of the things they say are bullshizz.
cheers,
Felix

well, you need a nice good computer. like 128 ram (mine is 192) and close to p4 1.1 or at least p3 950mhz for me. im using riva tnt2 32mb video card. works just fine. you can finish it in more or less a week if you play constantly.

that sounds cool ive got 128mb and 32 mb vid card but ive only got 800 mhz so that needs updating as well as my 128 mb cuz some fgames wont play,. if i get chance what would be the best graphics card out there to get?

No - actually you don't need an upgrade. Your system furfills the recommended specifications for the game.

I use a NVIDIA 32 meg card. It works pretty good, but the game is kinda slow for me because I have, like, 600 mhz. (I think) So it runs okay, but not so great. The game is great, I finished it in about a week and a half. The best part is, you can make your own game with it! Like a BG mod, except a LOT better. You can create whole worlds... if you have time enough. I've made a grove and a castle so far. ;)
You start out in Neverwinter. Then you do stuff. Then you do more stuff. Sounds fun, huh?
I upgraded my RAM for about 50 bucks american. It's cool, now I have 256 MB RAM.

Hi Felix .... my combo consists of an Athlon 1 gig cpu, 512 meg of ram & a g-force2 gts 32 meg vid card. This outfit runs nwn reasonably well but stutters & jerks on heavy graphic screens. I am updating to an athlon 1.4 gig cpu & a g-force4 4200 128 meg vid card, perhaps I'll get smooth sailing (keeping fingers crossed).

Do you have the mod up and available to play?
Are there level requirements if you do?
Would like to check out new worlds.

Depending on your operating system will determine what memory you need to play. If you have Xp, note that it is a memory hog and will require at least 128 megs to play. 256 is preferred though. If you have 512, then you will definitely be safe. The absolute minimum memory is 96 Megs of Ram, I believe. As for video memory, I'm not sure about that. I think it's 32, but more likely 64 megs of ram. I've heard that 800 mhz systems are pretty much baseline for the game, but I have a 1.8 Gigahertz running, so can't confirm that. You definitely want to read up on video card support as well. Gforce should be safe and/or Nvidia. I haven't heard much otherwise. If you plan to multi-play (on the net or LAN), you will definitely want to get the fastest, best you can afford. If you use dial up though, don't bother. It's almost unplayable with dial up. You need a good fast connection (like cable, dsl, t1, etc.). Hope that helps some.
