The bartender at the Helm and Cloak was killed as collateral damage when Grelek attacked my party. Does this mean the Inn is no longer available as a place to rest?

I guess so - After all you did kill the owner of the place, didn't you

that is a known bug. Have u got the lastest patch?

GodzGift 09-24-2003 10:58 AM

this happened to me too. i took a hard reputation hit as a result. luckily i still had time to get my rep back up. and yes you can no longer sleep there...or get drunk as far as that goes. not a big deal as there are plenty of places to sleep in the city as well as the sewers if need be.

Ummmm....wow. That certainly never occured to me before. You know, if I was the DM of this game, I'd implement a Reputation penalty for sleeping in the sewers, too.

"Known bug"? I don't understand, are barkeeps supposed to be invulnerable? Anyway, the game I have came with TotSC already embedded.

GodzGift 09-24-2003 01:05 PM

great idea Six...maybe even a temporary charisma penalty too from the stench...i'm surprised there arent CON checks to see if you get nauseated while down there. LOL

The bar tender won't be as likely to die, if you turn off the AI prior to battle. Of course if all else fails I'm sure there's a way to clua him back in. There's actually a glitch that causes the party to appear multiple times. I forget how though.

But killing him will not mess up the main plot in getting the helmet right....

Firestormalpha 09-24-2003 09:04 PM

To my knowledge, it shouldn't.
I kinda actually went and spoiled myself on the location of said helm at the time so I'm not sure.
