what is with the chess bord under the house in the peninsula district? Is there anything to do with it besides dodging the traps that are all over the bord and destroying the peaces? Also is there anything with the pattern, or is there even a patteren to the traps on the bord? I'm just curious i have gone through that part a few times and i haven't found rime or reason for it. Is it just there for kicks or something?

If you feel like it, you can also destroy some of the pawns - one a more serious note, I haven't found anything important about it. It seems Lady Tanglebrook and the Head Gaoler just liked playing a dangerous form of chess
You do get a twobladed sword +1 and some info out of it - so it isn't a waste of time. |
The traps are in the squares that the pawns would attack. If you destroy the pawns, the traps will go away. I don't think there's anything more to it than that.
