Where do I get the key to Wanev's tower?

If you're talking about entering the tower, you have to enter through the nearby cave which eventually leads into the tower.

<font color="lawngreen" face="trebuchet MS">Yeah.. AFAIk there is no way to get through the main gates... even though it says you need a certain key.. :( </font>

The "key", actually isn't a key. There is a wardstone in Wanev's lab (All the way to the right of the map - same map as temple and Aribeth). You will need to use the brazier and cast the portal (how to do this is in his lab journal). When you get into the lab, you should find it. With the wardstone, the trolls will open the gates for you and let you go around. Also, in his lab, there is a key in the closet. This may be what you are referring to. Not sure. I think it has some traps on it, but not for sure (typing this at work). If you have the wardstone, the creatures will not attack you (which kinda sucks if you are looking for experience.)
