My multiplayer isn't working! I type the IP address... but no matter who it is, it says "CANNOT CONNECT TO GAME SESSION"!!! Please help me!! I've never played multiplayer!

I have not played multiplayer either because I have nobody to play against :D .

But seriously though I wish I can help you. Did you recheck you typed the IP address correctly? Your friend is hosting right? If so have him make the room first and have him call you when ready and then go type the address again. I am not 100 percent sure this might work. But I hoped I have been of help.

Umm Sythe, in BG you don't play "against" others, you play with them coopertively.

Assuming your friend is hosting, make sure he isnt using a router (or has configured port forwarding or a DMZ on his router), and that his firewall is set to allow the required ports through (for a hardware firewall) and is set to allow baldur.exe server access (for a software firewall).

If its a LAN connection make sure your using the right IP, the one you want is in the 192.168.x.x range or the 10.x.x.x range.
