ok maybe someone can help.....i just had a big battle in the city of balder's gate in a bar...the same bar that you find the helm of balduran. anyway...i completed the battle and left the bar and was going through houses and what not and then i happened to look at a character profile and noticed that my rep was down to 9 from 20. i dont know if some innocent people had died in the bar fight of if it's cause i attacked the party that i fought before they initiated conversation and turn red....what can i do to fix this...by the way...yes i saved over the file from before the fight...any help would be great!

The only thing you can do to restore your Rep. is donating at the nearest temple and/or doing whatever quests you have yet to do that give rep. as a reward. Other than that you are stuck. Chances are you attacked prior to their conversation causing the whole bar to go hostile on you and you inadvertently assaulted some inocents. Next time let them go hostile first. You know the old addage: "Haste makes waste".

it's not becasue you attack them before they turn red (the only consequence of this is that if you manage to kill them while they're still "blue," you get the XP for killing commoners). It should be because you accidently kill some commoners. Note, as soon as the fight break out, some commoners might turn hostile, and you may accidently kill them (mistook them as enemies). Did you use any area effect spell in the fight?

At the confessional:

Lets see - killing some innocent people. That'll be 4500 GP and 2 good deeds.

I believe, due to a bug, the Bartender and Waiter in this Inn turn Hostile to you as soon as combat breaks out--no matter what your Reputation/Charisma is, no matter who attacked whom, as soon as weapons start flashing, the management hates your guts. So, as soon as combat starts, your guys whip out their bows and take aim at the nearest enemy--the Bartender.

You can either:
A) Not fight them,
B) Take the Rep. hit,
C) Don't use any sort of AI during this fight and micromanage everything, or
D) Charm the Waiter & Bartender, send them up to the front line, and let the bad guys kill 'em.
Guess which one I use? :D
