Join the club , Dizzy. For all the hype this is one of the most bug filled games I have ever laid my hands on. For as long as they have taken getting it to market you would think that it would have been almost bug free.

Too many variables without knowing full system specs. Processor, Video Card, available RAM, soundcard, mobo chipset and which texture pack you installed with.

yes alot of the problems havent necessarily been bugs rather it has been peoples computers or parts of the computer that lags behind the game. is directx8.1 installed? is memory, cpu, graphics, sound, and anything else you can think of up to date?

it could also be that your running a pentium to. they are far to inferior to the likes of AMD(it rules)

yeah, everything on my cpu is great, when it configured it it said
it would be best run on max, but, it didn't prompt me to instal dirextx when i downloaded it, i might already have it but I will give it a try, thanks

It's hard for developers to test their software on every possible configuration available if not impossible so certain so called bugs only appear with certain hardware combinations.
1. Make sure your running DX8.1
2. Update ALL your drivers. Soundcard, Videocard, Motherboard, and yes even mouse driver.
3. Dig through some tech help forums for the problem. Chances are somebody somewhere has had the same one as you.
4. Try reinstalling the game from scratch, but set everything slightly lower. You can always change the settings later.
5. Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements. If your running under XP, add another 128mb to the min specs.

It sounds like a video card problem. Does the computer freeze requiring a reboot or can your hear the game just not see it? If your hardware is older than circa 2000 that's a good place to start looking.

it freezes and i have to reboot but the vid card should be good..

Animal 07-09-2002 09:57 PM

What kind of vid card is it? At least 32megs right? It really should be minimum Geforce2 class or ATI 7500, although some people have gotten away with much less without problems. I'm running XP Pro with no probs, don't have to run it compatibility mode with all the graphics cranked. This is a great game and I hate to see someone not being able to enjoy it.
This sounds similiar to your problem http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewto...89166&forum=49
