I made a druid because i wanted to see the shapeshift animation. but sadly, it wasnt there so i started wondering if it comes later, or is replaced by Animal Companion?

yes, both druids and wizards/sorcerors can use the 9th level spell Shapeshift. check the manual

you can transorm into a dragon, giant, balor, slaad, or golem (p. 134)

druids and wiz/sorcs have a lot of the same spells...too many, if you ask me

So Druids don't have it as an inate ability any more?

I'm not playing a druid, but according to the manual, you get the "Wild Shape" ability at 5th level. Says you can shapeshift once per day at 5th, twice at 6th, thrice at 7th, four time at 10th, five times at 14th, and 6 times at 18th. It also goes to say that the form will improve at higher levels. I guess that means you get a better selection as you go along. I'm not much for Druidic abilities and roleplaying though, so if anyone can switch, post here what forms and abilities that you gain.

Edit: Oh yeah, this is on page 60.
