I am taking a group of two through the full game (ToB included). My pc:

Fighter (going to be dualled to a mage @ level 13)
17 Str
18 Dex
18 Con
18 Int
10 Wis
16 Cha

Which NPC should I take? I am assuming a thief, but there are many. Which would be the best?

I have Xzar and Monty with me, actually. It seems to be the perfect party; a mage, fighter, and thief.

What about Imoen? It seems right to take her with you (and not trusting anyone else [img]smile.gif[/img] ). Give her high ability in find traps (App. 100%), then dual her to a (specialist) mage.

Do not worry about pick pockets, open locks or stealth.
-Pick pockets can be substituted by save-and-reload (or a good sword arm if you are evil).
-Open locks - well the good sword arm comes into mind again (or use the knock spell if Imoen is dualed to a mage).
-Stealth: There are both boots and an armour that can be used here.

Be sure to buy lots of healing pots :D

BTW: If you were a power player (like me) you would have put 18/xx into STR. It becomes 19 when you find a certain book [img]smile.gif[/img]

did u get those stats without any tomes etc? If u did it musta been a long time of rollin or else a bit of shadowkeeper editin!

About 8 minutes of rolling...my favorite song is that long, and it finished a few seconds before I got the roll (I started when it came on...timing method [img]smile.gif[/img] )

I told Imoen off...will she still be at the Candlekeep Coastway?

I would have put 18 in str, but I am going to use the book to get it to 18. I don't need more than that...not enough stats anyway ;)

Ross, if I used SK, why not get all 18? Or better yet, 25? [img]smile.gif[/img]

Two things:

There are MUCH bigger difference in going from ex: 18/25 to 19 compared to going from 17 to 18 in STR.

Imoen is IIRC the only NPC, that always will stay and wait for you, no matter where you leave her [img]smile.gif[/img]

I leave everyone in the Friendly Arms Inn, next to the two guards @ the entrance. I have Khalid, Minsc, Jahiera, Dynahier, and Imoen waiting :D
