I found the little annoy thing, only problem is, how am I gonna capture it.
It's my first found waterdhavian creature I found, I started off in prison as a gladiator (these exotic weapons rule, especially the two bladed staff) I found it, made the big protector of the big cheese surrender to me and now I beat the big cheese himself, intellect thingy comes out and start casting this crapload at me :S

Any clues on how to capture it? (I got a +1 two bladed staff, doesn't affect the little bugger)

You kill it! I just did it 1/2 an hour ago.

It has damage reduction and most likely you will only be able to hurt it with magic weapons AND even then you only do a point or so at a time...it took my duel weilding ranger a loooong time to kill it. Fortunatly it didnt use the psionic attacks on me too often. Just a hint, if you have low int and low wisdom you will have a hard time against mind spells and psionics.

my big 1/2 half orc barbarian and Tomi pummeled the hell out of it.

Ok the deal with intellect devourer is... He takes over the Bodies of numerous guards, you have to kill each "body" he inhabits then just pummel him to death- when hes in bug form. (He runs out of bodies to inhabit) He doesnt do a whole lot of melee damage- he DOES sap your intelligence tho, but you can get a restore for that. Did you know this already? sorry if so

If you talk to the guards you can persuade them to leave, you save them, get some xp, and you don't have to fight the devourer as long

I talked to all the guards, Tomi got stuck in and I summoned a Wild Boar (I am a half elven Ranger 5, cleric 3) and I used my bow on him, while Tomi backstabbed him and the boar just dealt him damage. The whole fight took about 3 minutes.

(Helps if you start a new game with a saved character - I saved when my character was ranger 4 cleric 2) - If I remember correctly I think when Tomi joins you he is at a higher level too, but I am not sure.

Dont forget to pick up its brain and also is an intallect devourer the same as a mind flayer but just a bit smaler and walks on four legs is it a cousin of a mind flayer?
