Its right when you walk in, in the chest. Its named the Castle Jhareg Riddle Key. You can only use it once.....

Just bumping this back up for clarification...

I found the key in the chest, walked through the middle door and found a chest with a "reward". I can't go through either side door (from the front room) and I can't progress further forward through the next door. I can't bash the door or "knock" the lock.

How am I to get further into the castle?

im not sure if all 3 doors lead to the same place. you said the middle door leads to a reward and thats it?

i always took the left door, it leads you to a bigger room with a guardian spirit thing. she gives you a key to go talk to both of the Jhaereg (sp? i probably killed that word) dudes. you get a written oath from them and take them back to the guardian spirit. you are temporarily a judge and get to decide their fate.

someone who went through the right door, please post

I guess that top-down-far-away camera view stumped me. I went back and found the *DOOR LEVER* right in front of the door that opened it; I just didn't notice it before. I really enjoyed the whole Charwood episode. This game is much cooler that I thought it would be.
