just talk to lots of people and tell them to give you all their gold or youll kill them...i average about 50 gold per person

theres a 2 bladed sword +1 in the tanglebrook sewers in the peninsula district, sells for around 600 gold

just a few off the top of my head

easy open all the chest and crates in the core district. You can earn a few hundred that way

Complete the weapon/armor quests in the City core for some easy cash. For example, the Gladitor Club sells for around 1900 gold. To make it you need a +1 club (which sells around 500ish) and need to pay the NPC 500 to make it. This gives you a net profit of about 900 gold. This does not work if you have to buy the magic weapons, as there is no profit then.

or you could do the ubercheat, create a 1 room module, fill it with gold, load your character into it, grab the gold, and save the charcter, then reload the charcter into the regular game

I would head right to the docks district and kill as many of the thieves there as possible. Take all their lovely smugglers coins to boot. Don't forget to 'take' a bloodsailor uniform to get into the auction area as well, why waste 5 coins after all? Use the coins to buy some great cheap stuff. Equip your char with whats usefull then use the coins that are left to buy stuff to sell or hang on to until you can turn them into better magical items from the blacksmith as mentioned above. The morning star+1 is cheap at 5 coins and sells for about 600 gold. The leather armor +1 is also cheap at 5 coins and can be used to make a great suit of armor that can be sold for about 2000 gold by the blacksmith.

just collect almost everything you see. by the time i finished chapter 1 i had alot of nice equip and had about 23,000 gold to sit on. all without cheating.
