So is it split up 50/50, or does the Player Character get the XP for the henchman's kills too, or....?

If i understadn things correctly you get all the exp. Your henchmen just lvl up when you do or in the case of one joining after you have level when you tell them to level up.

all i can say is .. when u get an henchman u got less xp.

I played with and without a henchman. They don't affect the XP with me.

Iffen I un'rstand this correct like and if Biowares does the xp system according to the 3E rules you will get slightly less xp for running around with a henchman. I don't think it's a 50/50 split, actually I'm quite sure that it's not. If you have access to a DMG then go to page 45 and read up on the cohort rules that are covered by the leadership feat. That's the way they seem to be handling it. I think cohorts take a wee bit of xp from you. Also having two of you lowers the relative challenge rating of the creatures which modifies the xp being given. I don't have my books on me (I'm at work) so I cannot tell you exactly how this modification occurs or how much xp a cohort takes if any at all.
