Spoiler below!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . How the heck do you capture/kill the intellect devourer who's taken over the prison warden? I'm playing a fighter w/a cleric henchman. I've tried persuading all the guards and also going straight for the warden. Nothing works! Aaaah! My party is maybe level 4? 5? Under 10k xp I think. TIA! Spoilerific
> > > > > > > > > If ya cant persuade any or all of the gaurds then focus your attacks on the warden first, he is fairly tough. Then follow the little bugger as he jumps from gaurd to gaurd. After everyone is dead but the little brain with feet, then you must lay into it with all you've got, being mindful that it has alot of damage restiance and may daze your party with mind spells. A few moments of hack n slash and you got it! BTW I took the Barbarian with me, the xtra damage came in handy and I found plenty of potions so I never had to cast a cure spell yet. |
Spoiler, kinda
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Luckily I was able to persuade the four guards, then just hacked away at the Chief and then little bugger. Little bugger's spells don't damage you really, just have to wait them out (he runs out of them eventually) and then fight him too. I personally ran out of potions so had to go for a potion-run and also rest a few times, but that's OK, cause he'll still be there waiting for you, and the damage you did to him before still remains (in other words he doesn't refresh himself even if you have rested). Cheesy tactic I suppose, but I got through it |
Make sure you get the brain! And report first to the guard captain, then to Aribeth

Why talk to the guard captian first? What is the benifit?
Do you get an item? Do you get a courtesan? Some gold? More exp? Is it worth doing over? |

No, no, no. Sneak in by yourself and KILL all the guards first while being out of LOS of the Warden. A missile attack or two will draw in the guard.
Then there'll be just the Warden... |
