Windows 98
733 AMD processor
128 MB RAM
6 GB free space
64 MB Matroz Millenium G400
DirectX 8.1

Thats just about everything on the requirements. I THINK i have at least all the min and most of the recomended. I tend to not understand fully all of these numbers. What exactly needs to be upgraded/replaced on my computer? The narrated movies skip every 3-4 words and the in-game play is more jerky that I would like. it was playable up until i got out into the city, then it got rediculous. i talked to someone...waited about 20-30 seconds...then my response choices appeared for me to select...made my selection...waited 20-30 seconds...then they answered back. i went on a mass killing rampage letting my panther and the thief guy go nuts while my computer showed me about one frame per 5 seconds until i died (which took about 30-45 seconds for my computer to comprehend) I will probably purchase a new computer and i have about $1350 to spend. What do i need to make sure to include. i was looking around and here are my potential to specs

2.2 GHz P4
256 MB RDRAM
128MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600

Im assuming that will clear it up. Wont it?

Your video card is probably your biggest problem. I would also turn off some of the fancy graphics features.

Forget the RDRAM, save yourself some money and go with PC2100 DDR is cheaper by a LOT and almost as fast.

Well i went shoping around and at dell i can get the system i listed for $1079. I did however skimp on a few things...I'm not planning to get a monitor because i will take the 22' beast of this one...saving myself big bucks. Will that GeForce i listed be good enough for now? Also...i will look into the DDR RAM.

Have you installed the latest video card drivers? This has solved problems for many players. Make sure you have the latest sound card drivers too. Also while your at it I would make sure your motherboards chipset drivers (for busmastering) are up to date as well as your BIOS. There is no reason why you should have to drop $1350 bucks for a new pc when yours has plenty of horse power. I run mine on a P III 450 MHz and suprisingly it runs real smooth.

Good Luck

Your system isn't that bad.First try installing the latest drivers for your video card.If you want to hardware upgrade, get a 950mhz AMD Athlon (should work with your system board) and add another 128MBS of RAM. Should cost you under a hundred bucks. I usually get my stuff from http://www.tcwo.com .HTH
