I see there are command-line options to run DarkStone in software mode. is there a way to keep it from trying to detect a 3D card? I want to run it on my laptop.

There is , I believe, the "-soft" command line option - not sure what it does though - give it a try and let us know http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Darkstone requires Direct 3D. Run dxdiag.exe and check to see if your laptop supports direct 3D (or 3D acceleration)

Looking at the box, the minimum specs are
"4MB D3D Compatible Accelerator" I would doubt if there are many laptops which don't meet that spec these days |
It was running perfectly on my last comp, a AMD 350 MHz with basic 8Mb D3D "accelerator".
