ok i'm on level 8 expert. the sorceress has 39 strength 137 magic 59 life and the ampire staff. the amazon has 71 strength 55 magic 96 life and plain sword. how can i get past the bad amazons? they shoot arrows at me and take a lot of life and when i hit them with magic bomb it only takes 1 point from them. the staff does ok but i need to get close enough to strike them. while i'm hitting one another is shooting me with arrows. i've gone into other rooms and killed all i could find from a safe distance but there is more i can't get to without being in the same area. please help i'm tired of dying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried poison cloud on the Amazons? You may also want to keep reflections on yourself - that way the arrows will bounce back at them.

I've also found that throwing axes work wonders on amazons.

One other interesting note - setting a wall of fire in a doorway BEFORE opeing the door prevents all but 1 of whatever's in the room from coming out to get you. This will give you time to use poison cloud (or another spell) on whatever's left in the room.

if one of your characters carries a bow you can kill enemies at longer range with greater effectiveness than with an axe, and you can generally fire off arrows quicker than the enemy, make sure your helmet and body are armoured well when you have to take off your shield. you can also double back through the last doorway when you come under fire so that your enemies come through one at a time.
