Well as this game isn't designed for Windows XP, my game is a bit of waste of space as it needs all this fixing up to be done. I do want to play the game again but my mind says that it will take too long, and being 14, i am not realy into this computer sort of thing. I do want to start fixing it up now however, because the Gael Sarren is realy a place for fun.

My problem: When i load in it crashes instantly and i can't do anything except the ctrl + alt + delete thing, which is partialy why i don't want to fix it. I am sure the list goes on for kilometres..

Burnzey... have you looked at the Tech Tips thread? There are a list of things that you need to do to enable the game to run in XP, and they're detailed there. Go through those, and if you have questions about any of them, post to here or a new thread.

It does work. I've done it

Thats a lot of things to fix though.. Just saying it will probably take 5 years with my knowlage of computers.

Hmm.. when i load in after changing it to deep.exe, it says i need to buy this thing to make the game run. Guess ill never be able to play now.. :(

It really doesn't take that long to fix those things, Burnzey. If you have questions on any of them as you go along, post them; even with the time difference, I'll probably still be on-line

As for your last post, the program that runs W&W is deep6.exe, not deep.exe. Was that a typo?

You'll be able to play it... promise. It's really not that tricky to set up.

if i'm correct (which i frequently am not :D ) i think it asked you to buy codecs to run the game.

if you do a web search you can find a free codec and its the latest version. i did this last week :D .

You are mostly correct, MJG. The game uses an older codec which MS no longer provides with XP. And if you want the newest version from indeo, it will cost you.

However, there are a couple of places where you can get it for free, and they're listed in the Tech Tips thread. Willow found them a while back... she was great for video-related stuff. Far better than I am

That Indeo thing? Well i might but my wireless internet is buggered > :( . Damn wireless! The good thing about re-installing the game though is that now i have sound, and the graphics are much clearer for some reason (on the main menu page thats before it crashes).

Sound... graphics... with that back, what's a little crash among friends?

Hope you get the updated codec soon...

Can somebody give me a possible site where i may download freely? I don't want to accidently get a virus or something like a Trojan Horse..
