y'know how you get the relic and give it to the lich? well he goes " well this is not what i was looking for." and i cant get it back! i try steal off him and give it back to try again but he keeps on vanishing. how do i get it back?

Radek 12-01-2004 05:01 AM

What have you given to the lich? The needed relic is the Holy Relic, which is in the chest in the wall on the "bridge" over the lava pool in the north part of the dungeon. It looks like a strange ankh (it is not an ankh).

Caveat! You can give anything to any NPC, even if you are trying to give a wrong item! The NPC will take it and say "Oh, thank you!" or something similar - and the item is lost. Sometimes you can steal the wrong item back, sometimes you cannot.
Annoying? Yes, but we can't do anything with it.

Radek is right. It has to be the HOLY RELIC. Not the little jindols that some monsters drop for example. Once he has got the right item a dramatic encounter should ensue.

One can key the encounter by hacking at him with the Mavin (the only weapon / spell that can hurt him) as well. If you plan to kill him before he starts flying and teleporting -- I'd recommend it, it's decent XP and seems the humanitarian thing to do -- you should get pumped up on Bloodlust & Heroic Might, go Invisible if you've got Backstab, &tc., because you've got to click like a maniac.

Don't worry, you can still burn his heart later if you kill him

erothsmedor is pretty good too. i tried killing him with one person but he died and the game froze in the process. P.s the holy oath, can you still kill people even though you swore to it? is that why it froze?

Originally the game design was meant to make you keep your oath but that part was not included in the released game so you can do what you please. Your game freezing had nothing to do with your offing Erathsmedor, well not because it was "wrong".

by the by, which ppls are good to kill for experiance? i already know erothsmedor and the lich, but who else is good?

Oakenmir, the benevolent living tree, wins hands down: over ten million XP!

I think Erathsmedor and the Mother of Crabs tie for second, at slightly over a million a piece ...

The rest are in the six figure range, IIRC ...

The Mother of Crabs and the Mystic Sphinx are slightly more than 950k. As we all know, Oakenmir is 10.3M Erathsmedor is 1.8M Leprechaun is about 360k, Temple Guardians and Stone Golems are about 180k, Nemuziti Naga and Guardians of Isis are about 150k . Sathius is 113k. The Naga in the Serpent Temple, Almanon and Malignants are about 90k. Other monsters are chaper. I've never killed G'Ezzered Ra. Even if evil deeds aren't too foreign for me, this is killing him is a bit strong coffee for me.
All values are for a non-elf. Elves get 10% more.
