As u all know, i am actually planning my new party.

My question is about the attributes when they reach the maximum value of 18.

1st question: Will there be a special trait/attribute when the maximum value is reached (afaik PROWESS and GALLANTRY are such special things) ??

2nd question: If there ARE REALLY these special traits/attributes, can a character get these when he starts with 18 points in one attribute ?

And finally: What are the special attribs for each "basic-attribute" ?

...maybe i mix up these improvements with Wizardry 8, i really don´t remember.

There are no special attributes like wiz 8. And prowess and gallantry are class-related, not level-related.

Puuuuh...good to hear that

Otherwise i would have to re-built my nearly entire party...ok, thx.

...GreetZ to Black Hawk ("Schwein gehabt") ;)

And, as you may or may not know, the highest level is NOT 18 rather than 24. However, you cannot raise levels above 18 when levelling up. For that purpose you MUST use ankhs or the Idol of Bongu.

You can raise levels using the following methods:

1) assigning points when levelling up

2) invoking ankhs

3) making offerings to the Idol of Bongu (will sometimes raise your fortitude stat)

4) making an offering to a town temple (will raise your presence stat, though not above 18)

So once you reach 18 only ankhs and the Idol of Bongu will help. Ankhs will not raise your stats further than 24, but there is no limit to your fortitude stat when you use the Idol of Bongu - you can go beyond 24.

Using the roster editor and various cheat programmes you can raise your stats indefinitely.

Actually, the max limit before ankhs is generally 20. You can raise at level-up to 18 and train to 20 in the guilds (even though they say you can't train any further). From 21 onwards, though, ankhs are the only way (bonghu excepted).

*edit* grammar, and frustration from accessing IW from my Treo today

There are actually a number of stat-raising objects out there, besides Ankhs.

The +3 AC ring given by the Earth Oracle in the Spire can be invoked by (I think) anyone for +1 Spirituality, for example.

Pure casters (i.e. Wizards or Warlocks) can invoke a lot of stuff. All those ugly green amulets you get late in the game give +1 Strength. The Rings of Mariin give +1 Int.

All of these things can be used to get a stat to its max of 24, and the Idol of Bongu can raise you past that...

... also, all these items can be "recharged" by selling & buying them back from a store. Between recharging & duping, you can get all a character's stats to 24 in a real hurry if you want to.

Good point, aleph_null1. I forgot about the rings and things you can invoke. I guess the best way to say it is:

1. Donate PRE to 18
2. Train STR, SPI, INT, DEX, AGI to 20
3. Invoke all to 24
4. Bonghu FOR to 25 (if at 24)

I think that covers it, unless someone remembers something else I missed (like, say, the genie's lamp )

Radek 09-23-2004 03:42 AM

Also, don't forget that you can recycle invokable items through a shop. Therefore, a single Amulet of Holding can raise mage's STR to 24: invoke - sell - buy - invoke - sell - buy ... Similarly, a single Ring of Mariin can raise mage's INT to 24. Well, you must be a mage or a warlock.

So So 09-23-2004 07:19 PM

um... you can always use one of the easiest ones to raise stats... the genie in the bottle?... forgot the name of the thing... memory is faded these couple of days...
