My time is up, the internet goes off today, the phone will ring here no longer. Day 1 of the movers, tomorrow will yield day 2, a night in the local Hotel, and good old Army Furniture for the next month.

I have been selected to go to a NG (National Guard) unit and be their Active Duty (Advisor) Counterpart. I will be the only Non-Com in a 5 man team that will work directly with this unit. At this era in our "War on Terorrism" NG units are being activated to supplement the Active Force at a rate that will outstrip a lot of the states militias at an alarming rate. As the headline news reads 2 more NG heavy Seperate BDEs have been alerted to deploy next year, Spring. At this point, my new unit has yet to be alerted, but only time will tell. That is a fact of this business.

I really wanted Idaho, Boise, Twin Falls, or even a place called Gowen Field. But the cards were not with me, I will go to a small area in NW Oregon. It's still in the "Gods Country" part, but not exactly where I wanted to go. However, we will make the best of it.

I am a DS/DS vet, and my views on this new era cannot be posted on this site, but I will say our troops need to come home, quick, fast and in a hurry!
