hi guys

kol has dissappeared from outside the serpent temple. can i still finish the level?

The heretic's key opens a small room in the temple. There is a statue there telling you a little bit about the plot in the game. There are also a couple of ankhs and an amulet of life. Nothing you cannot do without. If you have a recent saved game you might want to go back to there, but you can still easily finish the game without having visited the room.

If you have not got a recent saved game and really want to visit the room, I am sure Wyvern can help you hack the key into the game. I am sure she will be online later today.

But in any case Kol has to disappear after having spoken with you.

Everything essential has already been said. You are losing 3 ankhs (FOR, SPI, PRE), 1 Amulet of Life, and 1 leghtly monologue of a statue, which you would not listen to anyway :D There are bags of ankhs ahead. Opening the door and absolving the statue is not needed for completing the temple and the game. Except those 3 ankhs, you are losing nothing.
Therefore well, it shouldn't have happened, ankhs are always welcome, but it does not matter [img]smile.gif[/img]

As already mentioned - the heretic's key is not that important. Many players have missed getting it from Kol. It is so easy when you start talking to him to get distracted by a fight or just the desire to explore further. There certainly is no reason to expect Kol to disappear so completely.

Options are to reload a previous game or to hack the heretic's key into your inventory. I do have the code for this key so if you are interested in that option, we can bump up the thread on how one goes about safely hacking in an item and I can provide the item code.

I was thinking it would be a valuable and most welcome help to us all if the thread was bumped up in any case and made sticky or its contents added to the best tips thread.

if u find no need (or little need) for those ankhs, then u can leave that room behind. if not, then reload! :D

Will have to check but I think there may already be something about finishing talking to Kol outside the temple before leaving him.

Or did you mean the "hacking" thread? ;)
