Hello all.
I am a lurker.

Well, now that that has been settled, i can get on with what i was about to say.

Ummm, what was i going to say?
Well, after waiting a month to get back online, and having reloaded W&W yet AGAIN, ( major systms crash +++++++) i am about to embark on a game. I have yet to finish it, and have read many posts, a few spoilers, and tried the character modifyer as well in the past.

My son will be happy i have it downloaded again, and can try and finish it THIS TIME.

Thanks for all the tips and great reads.

PS: I know this is a game for 8 yrs and over here in Australia, but my son loves to see me play the game( No, i dont play it hour after hour, just 15 minutes here and there, when he asks to see me play). He always asks if he is ridding on my shoulders in the game, and if i can go and kill " all the bad men"

Welcome to the board, Morguemaus!!!

We're happy to have you here! Do they really suggest that W&W is a game for 8 years and over?? I don't recall it having any similar rating here in the states but it's an excellent game! One of the best CRPGs I have played in many years!

Enjoy!!

Welcome to the board, Morguemaus. It is always nice to meet new people here.
Hope you make it all the way through to complete the game this time.

Welcome to the boards, Morguemaus! May you and your henchman lay waste to the ne'er-do-wells throughout the Gael Serran!

If I think about it, the game is a little graphic when it comes to the killing and such, and especially the targeted killings (assassinating Rathskalion?). So there is some more mature content there, and if I take a look at the back of my manual, it does show as being rated for Mature audiences by the ESRB, whoever they are.

Do keep us posted on your progress! We're always anxious to hear about someone else's journeys.

Well, i am not doing very well at the moment.
My party are as green as cucumbers, and as profficient with weopons as sliced bread. I at least remember where some things are, but looks like i will have many hours to go, before i can get my party real and nasty like.Well, nasty towards the bad guys anyways.

Well, i may have to spend a few hours just trying to role characters. Dod that with Wiz 6, and finished it with only level 12 - 15 characters. Hmmm, shame this game did not come out when Wiz 6 did, because i could have done another marathon 40 hrs playing before sleep finally got to me.

Cheers

Oops, sorry, forgot this.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
Gosh, this reminds me of when i got the original wizardry and i posted help and info on an aussie bullletin board 12 or, well, lots of years ago.

Don´t wish for too much nastiness. Unofortunately this game can become too easy. Just a warning. I´m glad you are enjoying it though. Are you playing a 6 character party? If you are things can be hard in the beginning. ;)

And welcome to Ironworks. Well you have been here for some time so welcome to the registered members.

Thank you Willow.
I have sort of been here 2 months, but i had a few problesm with my pc, but you get that.

I was going to ask if anyone ever played Wizardry 1.
I know this may not be the right bulletin board to ask it, but i remember getting in on a mac back in when, 1987 or was it 1988?
On the Mac, I got a demo disk, that i played to death. You could not advance until you got the full game, and i ended up playing over 200hrs on that demo. My main characters got to over a million experience points, but could not advance. And, you could only do the very first level.

Ah, times have changed, ,well, sort of.

Well, till we meet again on the board.

Thanks and take care

Never played Wizardry 1, but I played Might & Magic 1 and Bard's Tale 1... do those count I have played a couple of the later Wizardrys...

And like Willow says, don't worry about the fact that you couldn't hit the side of a barn with another barn... your weapon skills do improve as time goes on. Always makes it challenging when you start replaying... taking a new party and where you used to be able to kill a MWoR, you suddenly can, if you're lucky, scratch a measly little Worgur :D

Just keep plugging away, and you'll get there!

Well, I did play Bard's Tale 1, when it first came out on the Mac.
I was a mac child, dad never had a pc, so i was deprived of games like that. I had an absolute ball with Bard's tale, but seeing it was a copy, i did not have maps or anything.
I really doubt i could ever go back to the old games tho.
I tried with Wizardry 6, but it was just not the same.
