usually we haf to spend quite a lot of time to think about which race to select for our characters, so now we hold a discussion on the different races to help ppl make their decisions easily, now pls post ur opinions here......

If you ask me there a few different options:

1.If you wanna roleplay or what ever you should pick a race that you think is the coolest(my favorite is lizord monk, because there is a game called everquest and i play an iksar monk(not much difference beetween the 2))

2.if you wanna have a super good character that is indesrtuctable(power gaming) look at nothing but there starting trait and think if they are useful or not because its easy to raise stats. so maybe a gnome because of lucky charm or elf for quick lerner(my favorite for these is gnome or elf)

3.A mix of the 2 classes above (i call them power players) this were you would for example take your favorite race class combo get it through all the classes get super equipment and finaly end up as the class you would roleplay as (my example is a monk, or zenmaster becuase there descriptions are kinda the same A.K.A a zenmaster is a sorta pumped up monk)

Thats that for that, but here is my suggest race class combos

Ratpeople-Thieves
gourk-warrior
dwarf-warrior or priest
lizord-warrior or priest
catpeople-thieves or warrior or wizards
elephantpeople-priests or wizards
pixie-priest or wizard or (to a lesser extent) warrior
elf-priests or wizard or warriors or thieves (very good general class)
humman-priest or wizard or warrior or thieve (not as good as elf, but a general class)
Gnome-warrior or thieve (because of lucky charm(s)(hehe)

again this is just my oppinion be whatever, who ever YOU want!!

AFAIK, there are only three races that are remarkable somehow.

1. Elf. He has an XP bonus. The bonus results in higher character level.
2. Omphaaz. The Omphaaz regenerates mana extra fast. A hot candidate on a mage.
3. Pixie. He is dodging attacks very successfully. But a pixie is buggy. He seems to dodge his own spells so that it's a big problem to cast defensive spells on a pixie. At least, as long as you play a solo pixie.

I daresay that all other race differrences are either unessential or temporary. Once you improve your abilities and once you get some training in skills, all race differences virtually vanish. Only an elf and an omphaaz will never lose their advantages. Even a pixie vill "vanish" when we start speaking about highly agile roles like a zenmaster, an assassin, or a ninja.
Therefore, think about an elf or an omphaaz. If you don't want neither an elf nor an omphaaz, then it doesn't matter too much which race you select.

For warrior purposes I usually choose humans or dwarves, (I have never tried gourks, although I think they would also be a good bet) because they are tough and gain hit-points fast. Humans are very versatile I think.

My thoughts are that Elves are the way to go as often as you can, be they Priest, Fighters or whatever

Main reason being is the "quick learner" trait they have which means you dont need as much exp to go from level to level

Therefore you get your spells quicker
Your sorcery quicker - most important
Weapon skills quicker

Anyway - thats my two bobs worth

i naturally use elves and oomphazes as magic casters coz fo the elves "quick learner" trait and the oomphaz's "mana seed" trait. for the pixies, i use them as MAJOR magic users coz of their helpyful dodge trait!
here was wat my party combination:
Human-wizard
Lizord-Warrior
Human-Warrior
Pixie-Priest
Oomphaz-Priest
Rattling-Rogue (a bit slow on development right?)
i'm not very sure whether this was a good combination though.........
