not sure if anyone has done this before me but anyway here goes:

when i was in the dragon spire i got turned around by the current and for some reason decided to swim backwards and what i found out was when swimming backwards you go the same speed you would normally go facing forward in a area with no current so you could go as fast in the current without struggling you just need to use your side to side movemnt keys evyer so often so you dont turn around and yes i am playing patched and with the Virtual Dub.

interesting bug/ game flaw/ secret way of moving(maybe) huh?

Swimming backwards has been known to help in many situations! Not certain if the designers intended that to be so, but certainly has helped many players when the current has been too strong! ;)
