OK I've done everything possible. I got the stone from the mermaid and found nothing in all the other chests. I don't understand the chest thing in the revolving room so maybe someone can put it simple enough so I can understand how to do it. Duh-oh!
Or does anyone know another solution. I don't have a saved game before Collasium that will work. Like an idiot I saved over my game that I needed. Someone on here said how easy the sunken city was and I believed them. It is pretty easy though, just going a bit crazy with this glowstone bug. HELP!!!! Thank you, thank you very much! |
Okay, it's not quite that difficult, but it can be frustrating.
There are actually a total of three glowstones, IIRC. What happens with the revolving room is that putting a glowstone in a holder opens one of the other three doors. You complete the work on the other side of that door, and then put a second glowstone near that door's entrance to the revolving room. That opens another door... you get the picture? You can get the first glowstone back after you've completed the first door's activities, 'cause you won't need to get back in there. Now, you're probably thinking, "That's nice, but if you read my question, I said I had THE glowstone. Where are these other two you're talking about?" To be completely honest, I don't remember. That's why I look in the Best Tips thread, the best source of Gael Serran gaming information this side of Cet's summer cottage. The location of all the glowstones is in there. |
Hi Makron!
Glowstones - oh yes. Well, you're supposed to find them at the Sewer Gate (from the Sarellia), in the treasure vault, and from the shark trap. You end up reusing one of the first two, as I recall, taking it out of the east lock and using it in another location prior to finding the 3rd. (think I have that correct) From personal experience, I know they are not always where you expect to find them or all there. It was because of missing Glowstones in my first game that I figured out how to hack items in W&W. So, if you are very much stuck and since you don't have a good save to use to restart this area we can still solve the problem. The question now is do you want to try to hack yourself a Glowstone or not? It isn't really that difficult to do and there is a thread that has directions on how to do it which can be ferreted out. As to your post in the "best tips" thread, Bungleau: please, correct me if I am wrong - I most likely am. You say, that two of the glowstones are needed to complete Collasium. Is it in fact not so, that all three of them are needed?
There is one of the tablets of Cet - I believe it is the third - that is situated in a small closed niche above a pool of water. To open that niche and to have the small marble walkway extend from the wall it is necessary to have two glowstones placed in the receptacles in the corridors on both sides of the niche at the same time. But meanwhile it is also necessary to have a glowstone placed in the receptacle by the "revolving door" to gain access to the area containing the niche. Hmmm... I thought I went through one time with only two glowstones and was successful, but I'm not so sure any more. When Missy gets there, I'll check it out; in the meantime, I'll remove the "minimum two" comment, since it may not be correct.
Thanks for keeping me honest! |
I don't think it's possible to pass with only two glowstones. The problem is with the carousel:
- Putting the glowstone to the receptacle at the "Sarelia" side opens the door to the "cages" side. - Putting the glowstone to the receptacle at the "cages" side opens the door to the "Mother of Crabs" side. - Putting the glowstone to the receptacle at the "Mother of Crabs" side opens the door to the "backdoor" side. In the other words, you are forced to leave one glowstone at the carousel (in the receptacle from the "cages" side). Now, you will need two glowstones at the Third Tablet of Cet. Therefore, you need three glowstones. With the tablet, you can let the glowstones be and take the way along Vemora (recommended) or take one glowstone and leave through the backdoor. |
Quote:
1: Use the glowstone on "Sarelia's" side which opens the door to the "cages". Do the "cages" area. 2: Go back to "Sarelia's" area and pick up a chest. Block the door to the "cages" area and go back to "Sarelia's". 3: Pick up the glowstone from the receptacle and make a portal. 4: Go to to the "cages" and push the chest and yourself through the door. Use the glowstone which will open the door to the "MoC" area and then TP back to "Sarelia's". 5: Go to "MoC" area, pick up the other glowstone and TP back to "Sarelia's". 6: Pick up a chest and block the door to "MoC". Return to "Sarelia's" 7: Use the glowstone and go to the "cages" area. Pick up the glowstone from the receptacle and return to "Sarelia's". 8: Pick up the glowstone from the receptacle and go to "MoC" area by pushing the chest and yourself through the door. You are now in the last area with two glowstones and the rest is, as they say, history. Blocking the doors with chests from the carousel without also blocking the carousel can be a little tricky and may take a few reloads, but it can be done. C |
Nice one... Perhaps you should post that on the "best tips" page.

I second the Best Tips thought!
