Hi guys!

I found two ankh's in the crypt level an intellect one and an agility one how do you use them.Thank you willowIX for being freindly and to packrat better late then never i allways say

cheers Lankst :D

you click on them in your inventory and press invoke. they permantly increase that stat by 1.

It is a good idea to wait until your stats are 18 before you use them because that is the highest you can train them when you level, the stats go up to a max of 24 each.

Hi LANKST !

Ankh's are pretty good devices in W&W.

To use them just click right mouse button over it and there opens new little window. There 3 buttons right bottom of that window; close windows, drop item and invoke button. ( and identify item if you havn't and you have artifacts skill )

Now click invoke button and your character gains one point what that Ankh was... intellect and agility like you have.

There's many hints to use Ankh's. If you have joined into some guild and want to change role of your character, there's some minimum points you must have to start training. Read best tips post ( it's first or seacond posts from up in this foorum ) to see what you character must have before training. Example 8 strenght and 6 fortitude.
Just see what character needs that Ankh's power and invoke it by him/her.
It's easy way to get ability point.

And your character can only raise ability point up to 24 ( don't sure was it exactly 24 ), but by Ankh's you can raise it above it!

Ninja, Samurai and Monk training takes quite big ability points, so you might save that agility ankh and use it when you want to start those trainings and havn't enought agility to do that.

Hope I didn't confuse you so much as I did into my self... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon26.gif

Read best tips post!

Edited when noticed that KAR_MOD1 was faster than me!
When I start to wrote this message there wasn't any replies then :(
I'm too slow! ( this wasn't first time when this happened ;) )

Please, pardon me for once again riding my hobby horse, but have you walked both the wizard's path AND the warrior's path in the crypt? Both paths have an ankh to collect. I have posted the information on how to walk both paths on page 7 of Wyvern's topic called "Best Tips" located as the second topic in this forum.
If you have already walked both paths then please, shrug overbearingly and pardon my getting carried away.

Pardon me for interrupting, but to clarify the situation on ankhs and ability points...

By yourself, you can apply ability points until you reach 18. You can not apply ability points after that.

In the guilds, you can train in strength, intelligence, spirituality, agility, and presence. You can train the first four to level 20, and the last to level 18 (I believe; don't remember exactly how high). Note that the guildmaster tells you you can't train above 18 in the guilds, but if you click and pay, you'll be trained in that ability. The option to train disappears at level 20.

With ankhs, you can increase one stat one point. The most you can raise a given stat to is 24.

The idol of Bongu can reportedly give a +1 fortitude bonus that can lift you to 25. I haven't seen this, but those I trust have reported it.

My personal approach is to save ankhs until the associated stat has been trained to 20. After that, I'll use the ankhs to get to 24. And once you're at 24, another ankh of that type is useless for that character. Sell it, or give it to someone else.

the ankhs are a WOWEE!!! there are so many of them in the Gael Serran that i had a whole character's inventory FULL of different types of ankhs (agility, strength, intellect etc.) !!!
i had quite some time deciding which ankh to give which of my 6 characters :D ..
what bungleau and the others said is true, that the ankhs are the only way to get ur stat all the way to 24, but i'm not sure about the idol of bongu yet though, havent tried it out myself.......

LiOnHe@rT 02-06-2003 08:12 AM

huh? ur PRE increases when you donate meh??? i didnt know that.........

Furthermore there are a great many rings, amulets, and other items, that you will encounter during your travels in the Gael Serran, that can be invoked to gain statistics points. Later in the game you will encounter a lot of amulets called amulets of holding and amulets of silence. These can be invoked to gain +1 strength to a character that was originally a wizard. So you do not have to spend points your wizard charater's/characters' strength when ascending levels unless more strength is nessecary for a role ascencion or something like that.
