Salutations from deep Down and Under!
As a newbie here I have some questions concerning the Artifcats and role changes

1. I have acquired the Artifacts of Vine and Stone as my characters have increased in levels. BUT What do I do with them or more grammatical speaking WHAT or HOW do I do anything with them?

2. I have a party of 3 wiz 2 Priests. I want to trundle my Wizards ( at level 8 now ) off to become Palladans. What is the path I need to take here as my options are Bard, Warlock and Samauri. Note my main ain is to end up as a Warlock 3-4 changes down the road

3. Now a real simple one. How do I identify things? I have a character with REVEAL. Does this help? because Im stuffed if I can figure it out?

All help greatly appreciated

All those with cute signature blocks need greatly fear my wrath ( do you think this is a cool signature block or what!!!)

Welcome to the boards Featherstone. Hope your stay will be enjoyable.

1) To be able to actually cast the artifact spells you need the incantation trait and the blessing skill (check your manual since I probably misspelled them ). You use the spells in either the temple or the magic shop, the bless button or the enchant button.

2) To become paladin you need to enter either the priest guild or the warriors guild. So start samurai training, enter the armory and join the warriors guild. Then cancel your samurai training and start your paladin training. There´s actually no need to change class to gain entry to a giuld, you just need the training.

3) First you need the ancient lore trait. Then you can go on with the identify skill. When the trait/skill is available is in the best tip thread I think.

Happy gaming!

1. The Artifact spells work together with Blessings and Enchants skills. If you want to bless/enchant items then you need the skills AND the artifact spells. Therefore, wait until you gain the skills. Blessings (and the Cabalist trait) is a Temple Guild level 4 skill, Enchants (and the Occultist trait) is a Mage Guild level 4 skill. Once you acquire the skills, then:
a) Artifact of Vines - blessings for toughness.
b) Artifact of Stone - blessings for AC

2. Role change to a Paladin is offered by the Warrior and Temple Guilds. If you want your wizards to become Paladins then you have two possibilities:
a) Guild hopping trick (recommended :D ). Let the wizards pretend that they want change role such a way that they would join Warrior Guild or Temple in their new role. For example, let them pretend that they want to be Samurais (Warrior Guild). Once they will be "training for a new role", they will be able to join immediately - they do not need to complete the role change. Join the new guild and cancel the pretended role change (i.e., the Samurai training). Now, the wizards are members of the Warrior Guild or the Temple and they will be able to change role to Paladins. The guild hopping trick does not prevent you from changing role to the cancelled role (for example, Samurai) later.
b) Do it without trick. Your wizards need to change role such a way that they can join Warrior Guild or Temple first. For example, they can become Warlocks and join the temple. Later on, they will be able to become Paladins.

3. Identifying items: You need the Ancient Lore trait and the Artifact skill. Both the trait and the skill are guild level 3 skills available in the Temple, in the Mages Guild and in the Thieves Guild (in the Thieves guild only for thieves). Once you gain the skill, the description screen of an unidentified item will contain a new button: "Identify". The Reveal spell does not identify items.

Welcome to the boards, Featherstone. May your journeys through the Gael Serran cause bard's tongues to wither from overuse in proclaiming your accomplishments.

You've already got the good answers to your questions. Just remember that you can't ever actually cast the artifact spells; they're cast for you when you bless or enchant something at the Temple or Wizard's Guild.

Has anyone actually used the reveal spell?. I know I never have so far and I think I'm nearly finished the game. (Just completed Skull Castle).
