I was not aware at the time that you could be hit by lightning
from the sky but then it hit me.But the weird thing was it hit me 4 different times in 4 different maps.I was just wandering if anyone knew the odds of getting stuckbye lightning THANKS |
It happens only if the character is wearing plate or full plate mail armor (I'm not sure abouit chain and splint mail). It also must be raining. So give your main fighter boots of grounding (you can find them somewhere around Gnoll stronghold).

Wonderful advice Flaming Fist Enforcer; however, this particular brand of lightning doesn't hurt you at all. At least it never hurt any of my characters.

Hmm - I always thought it took 1 or 2 hit points. Another thing - It seems that you have to stand still for a while to get struck.

You can get hit even when walking, and it deals no damage. It does have to be raining, but I'm not sure about the plate.
The odds are very slim, or so I read a while ago. Can't find the page where I first saw them listed though :( |
I don't know if that lightning strike deals damage 'cause it never happened to me. I have, however, heard people talk about it. Maybe it never happened to me because I tend to turn off the weather button in the options screen so I guess it affects it.

I've only seen it happen after I installed ToSC. It seems to show no preference for those with metal weapons or armor (play a Druid, get you ass kicked by Nature), but it does no actual damage.
Startled the hell out of me the first time it happened, though. |
I have heard rumors about people getting struck by lightening and then becoming immune to magic. But they were only rumours.
