I've installed more ram on my pc, so I immediatly arced up the graphics in the game to 600x800 d3d. The problem is that when I load the game I only get a black screen. I cany even get to the stage where I can change the graphics back.
Is there an index to the tech thread yet so that I can find a solver for my problem.

I'm guessing that the game is the only problem you're having.
Did you try to reinstall the game?

I have only tried a restart. I also changed the graphics resolution & gamma on the pc graphics. Would this have added to the problem. It is only the game that is effected.

I would make a backup copy of your 'SAVE' and 'ROSTER .DAT' files and store them elsewhere. (just to be safe) Then uninstall and reinstall the game. There might be a conflict between the exsisting config game file and the 'New' system config.

I still have the patch readme file in my activision folder. Do you reckon the patch will still be active in the game or will I have to install a new one?

You can probably test the patch. Try to do something it eliminated. I've never used it, so I can't make any suggestions.

About the patch. You can compare the size of the deep6.exe file. The unpatched version (on the CD) is probably a different size in regards to the patched one. I´m not sure though... The black screens disappeared right? Otherwise check the tech thread page1 (post 23), black screen on launch and black screen in town.
