In one of the houses in the City of Baldurs Gate, I found a man that was sleeping in a bed. It is the guy, where you have the following 'conversation':

Him: ZZZZZZZ - what was that?
You: Meooow!
Him: Oh - it was only the cat - ZZZZZZ

Him: Wait a minute - I do not have a cat
You: I am a stray
Him: Sounds reasonable - ZZZZZZZZZZ

Funny joke, but are there any other 'use' of this guy? He has a distinct name (I do not remember the name though) other than just 'commoner'.

I do not hope so. I thought I solved the 'quest' perfectly by keeping the guy at sleep, but I didn't get any rewards (ie. XP).

There is a mission for the thieves guild for this character.

The basic plot is to steal a rogue stone which is in the chest of drawers next to the sleeping man.

To get this quest, simply enter the theives guild... and you will be approached by a thief who wants to score some marks.

Stole everything before I got the quest. Wasn't good. Thieves weren't happy.

Actually Jan, they don't really care about you stealing 'everything before I got the quest', Provided you give them the rogue stone at the end of the mission.

Depends if you want the EXP reward (low) or the money for the Rogue stone (who needs money by the end?).

I sold the rogue stone long before I got the quest. Well doesn't matter.

Ok, so here's another spoiler below.
Insane, the quest you're currently working on is the first quest for Narlen in thieves' guild. The next quest is the one this topic is about. BTW, it's Splurging Surgeon inn.

The first quest?? It wasn't the first quest I got from Narlen.
