Hi moonraker and welcome to the board! There´s no patch for this but you can fix it of course :) Use the link below to download a program callede virtualdub tat will extract your townmsk*.avi files! For instructions check page 6 in the <font color="red">"best tip" </font>thread!

Virtualdub

ps!! You have selected your characters right?!?! Without them you can´t enter any building or exit any gate!

OK I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens. THANKS!!!!!

No problem! And plz let us know what happens since you probably, and unfortunately, will run into problems with crashes. This game was NOT made for win nt/2000/xp! You can find more info about how to make the game run smoother either in my post, page 9, in the techie-thread (it says only win2000 but it´s the same for winxp, or check Xignal´s site here: Xignal´s site. Choose games in the left menu and you´ll find a winxp category! Happy gaming!

YEAH BABY!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Uhh obviously that worked. I'll go check your thread out now.

Thanks again. Umm I'll ask now doing that made the graphics change a little not a big deal but they're not as smooth as they were. Any ideas on that or on anything else I should do right away.

Glad it helped! I´ve never noticed that the graphic changed after extracting that avi´s! But then I don´t look at the buildings anymore, lol! This is just a work-around for the change in the windows codec (video compression removed). That´s why you need to extract the avi-files. You haven´t jumped from D3D mode (hardware) to software mode?

I don't think so. Also d/l the patch and installed it and replied yes to overwrite all files.

Should I change compatability and run it either in 95 or 98.

Also will I be ok using my previous saves. Haven't got much done but don't want to start over unless I have to.

Welcome to the board, moonraker!!!

Check out SAZ' TECHIE HELP DESK thread - any problems and fixes in there for Win2K also work for XP. I would advise against running a 98 emulation in XP, there are known problems with doing that (not for this game specifically, but in general).

If you don't find the answers in the techie thread, ask - we've got a lot of people here who will help you find solutions!

Keep us posted on how you are doing!
