Hi folks,

I have serious trouble transferring saved games to another computer. I tried to copy the "save" directory to the new machine, but the game crashes every time I try to load any file.
I also tried moving the "config", "savegfx" and "vendor" directories: same result. The characters don't even appear in the town inn.
Now even creating new characters doesn't help: the game crashes every time I try to leave Valeia.
Patch is installed on both machines. Both computers run under Win2k.

Any suggestions?

Try copying the ROSTER.DAT file along with the save files and you should be fine! :D

Wyvern is spot on - you need to copy the roster.dat file

Note though that the roster.dat file will be based on your characters when they were last in town. So if you have taken them out since, their latest experiences won't be recorded here. The safest thing to do is to take your characters back to town, exit and then copy the roster.dat file across.. Good luck.
