I did the the Tower Rite but he won't take the mask and when I look at mask it is still called "mask of Evil" and not "Haleabus invincibility sapper" How do I give him the mask. Note the was a flash when I did the Rite and everything. Can someone help me out???

You have to give it to him using the use/give button. Make sure you're on give. Also, does the mask say "evil mask +" or something like this?

Lots of players mistake that the give/use are the same thing and don't realize that you actually have to click on the "give" to make a difference. Mostly like that will be the source of your difficulty - just as Ryanamur said.
