I realize that this question has been posed many times but until the search engine comes back on line, I humbly throw myself to the mercy of the court.

First time through, no problems. But this time, I have a toad that is playing in puddle in the passage that will not let me by short doing him in. I have tried talking to him, pushing him, having a small lead character sneak around, reloading from right before I went down, installed the patch, pleaded with him, to which he responds "Get out of my way". He just continues to walk in place in his little pond (it must be a warm sauna). I do not have vanish yet, so I can not use that trick.

Any thoughts?

Hi Skog!

Yes, this has been a common problem - drat!

Okay, the easiest solution (sniff) is to check to see that no other toads are watching you and off the poor guy in one blow/spell. ONE! He has to go quickly and unseen/heard by others or you will be in big trouble! ;)

Thanks, will try, but I think there is another guy down the passage wanting to get into sauna, and then there is this other guy who wants to be a tour guide or just an expeddition groupie, that keeps following the party around.

Does anyone know how the NPC are seeded into the game? Would I have to go back and reset the game or are they generated when I go into their area?

If I am caught hurting them, does this effect the Hippocratic oath I took in the in the Crypt?

I think that if you leave Toad Village and re-enter, the toads go back to some starting position and you might be able to get pass without frying them.

But if they're too stupid to move out of the way, then you have no choice since your oath compels you to rid Gael Serran of all evil including Scabban's evil minions.. So your oath is kinda still valid(ish)..

First off, I agree with Wyv -- killing is good for those who deserve it, not for innocents.

That being said, the critical thing is to slay him in one blow. If you do that, he doesn't have the chance to cry out to tell the others what you've done.

Not sure if the other toad in the area will have an impact. You might want to be out of his line of sight before you do the slaying.

You might also take the groupie into a room all by himself to slay him, out of sight of the others.

And of course, save beforehand just in case this doesn't work...

As for the oath, sadly the game doesn't really take it into account. I wish it did... really. You'll be able to wield the Mavin at the end whether your heart glitters with gold or reeks evilly with darkness.
