Well, I've been sailing around for about 4 hours now, and no sign of crabs. What gives?
I've played Darkstone, BGII and this, but I've never been stumped by "lack of crabs" before.
They seem to be non-existent in my game. Are they in both the Enchanted Sea and the Lost
Sea? I hardly meet anyone at all - they're all dead! I had one crab encounter in which I obtained
one shell. Have not see eye nor claw since. I'll keep on looking, but I'm getting a little "seasick".

Welcome to the board.

You'll need to kill more of those crabs. You'll need both a helmet and a breather for each member of your party.

There's around. You need patience. You can also cast "Spirit Eye" to see more ennemies and boost your "scout" skill to sense them from afar.

Good luck

Welcome to the board, Penelight!!!

Sail around and fight as many crabs as you can, gathering up their shells. Take them back to the man from whom you bought your ship - he can make you helmets and breathers!

If you have a scout in your party, any time they tell you there are crabs near by, look for them! You can try to pick pocket shells while you're fighting them too!

Good Luck!

There are crabs out there, though they seem to be few and far between sometimes.

There are a couple near the lost city, generally, and en route to getting there, you'll find others, I'm sure. I actually prefer to swim through the water looking for them. Pop up every so often to take a breath of air, then dive again.

Combat tip: when you see them, and they see you, head for shore. As soon as you touch sand on the side of the shore, you'll stay in place and they'll come to you. I've always found it difficult to swim up, swing a sword, and stay still, all at the same time.

Hi Penelight

I'm in the same boat as you, can't seem to get any shells, I went back to Brimlock and searched the beaches there, finally found two crabs, killed them but they left no shells. Have you found any yet?

Regards

Ted

Hey, Penelight
This is what I did. I already had one character with a mask but no breather. So I just took him down to the sunken city. It turns out there are a lot more crabs down there. So I killed them, brought them back, got a breather from the man, and brought another character the next time. there are air pockets down there.
hope this helps,
Decimus

I've got 2 breathers and am about to tackle the
city with just two party members. There 2 strong wizards.
Will this be possible?

Should be and certainly worth a try. You can always reload an earlier save and try again if they aren't enough to handle the underwater city! ;)

Just finished the city with a Warrior and
a Lockpicker.EAZY!!!!.
Wizards are no good as most spells don't
seem to work underwater.

Should be fairly easy with just one lockpicker
also I would think, if there got a reasonable
hand weapon. There's only a few sharks, crabs
and dragon fish things, not real hard.
"DEFINITALY" need a lockpicker though.

Lockpicker... I like that term! Mind if I grab it for future use?
