I'm running the game on an older slower system that runs win98se. Should I get the patch or just do with out it? It seems to be running fine now..only crashed once. Is there a list of things the patch fixes around?

I would recommend that you continue without the patch and see how it goes. If you aren't experiencing a lot of problems with the game then you may not need the patch and won't lose some of the nice "perks" you have playing unpatched.

Check the BEST TIPS thread (there is an index of sorts in the first post) There is a post in the thread that tells you what the patch does and what it removes which should help you decide.

I see no advantage to using the patch if your game runs fine without it.
