I've talked to the living tree and used up all the words that come up in my list and he won't give me a seed, am i doing something wrong or is he not supposed to give me a seed at all.

Although it sometimes is possible to get 1 seed from Oakenmir, you really need to go looking for Bark Horrors (most often found in the Lost Sea area, sometimes found near Talrik). When you kill a Bark Horror, seeds can be part of the treasure! ;)

Oakenmir is a nice tree!!!

There is a colony of three bark horros north of Set's Pyramid. Make sure you get the Town hall hydra Quest first tho as you'll havr to whack the hydra out beforw you can reach the bark horrors
