I can't unstall direct X V8.0 because I have to have it for other games. Anarchy, Dark age of Camolot, Diablo II (If they ever come out with the patch 2.0) and pretty much any game played on the interenet that has patches. New patches usually have something to do with directX. Anyone think there is a way around this?

Just FYI: I've been running W&W on dx8 with no problem. might want to look else where for your fix, video deivers ect...

DirectX 8 quite often IS the source of the trouble though I haven't figured out if there is a direct connection with particular OS as well.
I can run W&W with DirectX 8 but there are many people who cannot.
