I can get into the "crypt" at the Graveyard Ruins of Bersault (near beginning of game, but I can't do much in there, cept kill skeletons, open treasure chests.

I've been in every room in the crypt that I can find (cept a locked one where the lock jams :| ......... I've no idea what I'm to do next

So, you got the baube stick! Did you use it in the pool to retrieve the crystal? If you didn't do that, you need to do it to keep going. Once you got the crystall, you need to put it into the receptacle to bring the elevator down. The elevator is in the room at the bottom of the broken stairs.

Greetings, Morb! NO, the Bauble Stick is in a chest in a room near Bilbump's brother, Rethpian(the Rat Pie dude). West (down the stairs) of the round room with the locked door below the broken stairs. There's a pool in the middle of the room. And for your information, you've only just BEGUN this dungeon! Aaahhhh,hahahahahahaha!! ;)
