how do i get the ancient lore trait, my characters are up to 4th level and i am losing a fortune in gold identifying stuff.

I, too, am having problems with this. I turned my wizard into a warlock and am now at level 4. The ancient lore trait appears on my character skills screen, but I can't seem to ID anything. I tried moving items to my warlock and right-clicking, but I don't get the Identify icon. What's the trick?

Not character level - GUILD LEVEL - you get Ancient Lore when you reach guild level 3. ;)

You also need ARTIFACTS to be able to identify items!

so far i am just guild level one, how do you get the artifact skill then as well?

Start doing those guild quests - for all the guilds, they are VERY important!

Artifacts is a skill you can get when you've increased your guild level.
