This is in response to some tinkering I did with the oath of scrolls / oath of swords:
According to the manual your character receives 25% less damage from hand weapons while at the same time receiving 25% more damage from magic spells when he/she has the trait oath of swords.
With the oath of scrolls its the exact opposite, right?
So , several questions keep bugging me now while I wait for the publisher for W8 being announced:

1)Most of my party ppl are in all guilds, so I could get both at the same time - as I understand it, since it doesnt get used like shadowcloak, its always there and they would both cancel each other out? Is that so or do I err here?

2)In light of these thoughts mentioned above, as long they hold true, which one is preferable later on in the game, the scroll oath or the sword oath?
Will my opponents use powerful magic or try to smack me up my head with a rubber chicken of death +1?

Hmm, funny one...

So, Iīm right with my first assumption and the answer to my second is that there will be close combat fights most of the time?
Who would have thought of that?
Rats!
And no, no pie plz!

Hi Yazee,

Interesting questions which we have discussed before on this board and I still don't think there is an answer - I think they would have to cancel one another out but I don't know of any reliable way to test that theory.

Personally, I prefer protection from spells over swords - so I think it is a matter of your own preference rather than one really being better than the other.

There is no suitable protection from rubber chickens. Pity! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
