I found Adrianna and the locked door with the wierd music (the lich, I presume). But how do I open his door?

Go back to where you fell in the water - one direction takes you to Adrianna - don't go that way again until you complete the quest she gave you. There are 3 other directions you can swim - one takes you on a short run to a hall with some flying death head spells and an altar. If you are referring to the door with a "level 12 lock" ie the stained glass door in the lich's room, then you can:

1)accept Adrianna's quest and ask for the treasure as the reward
2)have really good lockpicking skills (e.g. if your pick lock skill is only 7, then buy a level 5 lock pick set, or get your lock pick skill to the max of 12)..

Inside the room there is one treasure chest with a few goodies, which are nice to have but not essential to completing the game..

I think you will find that the door specified was the one with the music coming out of it - Eric has guessed correctly that that is the LICH door.

Standing outside of the door with the music, I don't see a keyhole...Am I missing something?

You might be at the wrong door - From the entrance go through the gate into the large room with the spirits and the double staircase. Go up the stairs and through the door. Follow the corridor until you find stairs going down - the door at the bottom is the door to the Lich and there is a keyhole there - on the right as I recall!
