I have just used the two champions keys and gone through the door. The problem is, I can't go down the stairs. I get stuck in the same way people (myself included) get stuck trying to get to the serpent idol. Thankfully, there was a workaround for that here on the boards, unfortunately, a search reveals no such workaround for this problem, or even any evidence that others have come across this problem. So what I would like to know first of all is if anyone else has in fact seen this problem, and secondly how they got past it. Thank you kindly in advance for any fixes or suggestions.

A couple of thoughts:

1) Select a shorter character; I bumped my head on those stairs once, then chose a dwarf to lead.
2) Save and re-load that save.
3) Try using Vanish.

I had the same problem myself in one of playthroughs. I was really dissapointed and didnot know what to do, so I just quit the game. Next day, when I loaded saved game everything was OK.
Do not know whether it is important, but I saved the game not immediately near the entrance to the Cet's appartment, but a way back.

Thank you all for the suggestions and welcomes. Unfortunately none seem to want to work and it now appears my game is over, and so very close to the intended end of the game. Truly frustrating.

You might try sending me your saved game in zipped format. Sometimes the problems are machine-specific, and restoring on another system can be a valid work-around. The saved games are (by default) in the ../activision/wizardswarriors/save folder.
