I have all the five evil elements of the castle and the evil mask. But when I try to perform the ritual the game gives a buzzing sound and nothing happens. I have slayed every monster in the mines, dragon spire, boogre prison etc and been looking everywhere for some clue. Have I forgotten some important part of the ritual or is it a bug?

well since it has been at least four months since i last played, i might have performed the ritual successfully and forgotten about it. is there any sign that informs me if that is the case?

one other thing, the halebus room; how do you get past the locked door? i guess there should be a key somewhere i have missed.

Look for the Master Key. It's the same one you use to get to the Armory. If you didn't pick it up (i.e., you rode the dumbwaiter down from the kitchen), go back to the kitchen and look on the rear wall towards the left).
