Just wondering what the Ankhs are used for...what are their benefits..I tried using one, but nothing happened.

They raise your stats (attributes). Each Ankh corresponds to an attribute; therefore, an Ankh of Strength will raise STR by +1 permanently.

Best thing to do is hoard them until you get a stat up to 18, then use them to increase the stat after that. You can get your stats up to 24 that way. (24 is max).

If you can't ID the Ankhs, save your game, check your attributes, then invoke the Ankh and then check your attributes again. The one that increased will be that Ankh's attribute. If you want a different character to get it instead of the one who invoked it, reload, give the other character the Ankh, then have him/her invoke it instead.
