I looked up some old posts on wether the assassin quest could be done without killing him. It was great fun what I came across, but maybe nobody noticed that Raskalion claims to be a member of the Hidden Circle and that Freyedies is a bad guy. What to do ? I joined the Hidden Circle, how can I kill this poor old sod ? It would make more sense to join with him to kill Scanthril and thus get the dagger for the quest.
The designers seem to have be a little inconstistent on this occasion, maybe just lost track of something that they wanted to do. Anyway it's hard to believe, so many intelligent guys working four years on a game with a holy quest and they come up that gamers have to do do a job for the most flthy character in the whole game to become one of the Elite roles in the game ??

There's only one little problem: you don't get the dagger if you don't kill Raskalion.

But you're right, for a game of virtue there's alot of unvirteus things that are done without enforcement: killing the dragon and Oakenmir are part of those!
