ok in my previus posts i think everyone miss understood my questions and what i wa realy asking. so here they are is simpler easier to understand format:

1.how do i get to chapter 3 from chapter 4?
2.how do you get into cloakwood without hacking?(i hacked my way in last time)
3.right now the bridge to Baldurs gate is up so i cant cross it(i hacked my way across last time because the gaurd was still saying there was a bandint problem, even after flooding the mines!)
4. does someone have to give me a quest befor i can enter the mine? if so were?

i hope everyone understands and give me the answers i was looking for in the first place.

P.S. this post might sound a little, not nice but i tried to make it as nice as i could.

Not quite sure what you mean by the first one, but i think i can help you on the others.

2. Im pretty sure you have to visit the Bandit Camp and go to Tazoks tent to speak with this dude there and then get some papers. after that i got cloakwood on my map and after going through the cloakwood i ended up in the cloakwood mines, naturally.

3. I think youre hacking messed up the game. After flooding the mines(legit way) i belive the guard lets you pass. he might let you pass after dealing with the bandit camp, though i doubt it.

P.S: Im about to enter cloakwood myself soon, so this was all pretty fresh in my memorie. Hope it works for you, if it doesnt, youre game is most likely bugged. Patch it if you haven't already.

BASIC PLOT OUTLINE, THEREFORE CONTAINS SPOILERS

To get to Chapter 1: Watch Gorion die.
After Gorion's death, you will meet people who encourage you to go to Nashkel.

To get to Chapter 2: Enter Nashkel or the Nashkel Fair.
While in Nashkel, you will be encouraged to enter the Nashkel Mines and find out what's been corrupting the iron.

To get to Chapter 3: Open Mulahey's chest (his wooden chest, not his torso) and take (presumably read) the documents therein.
Those documents will provide clues that put you on the trail of locating the Bandit Camp.

To get to Chapter 4: Enter the largest tent in the Bandit Camp, open the chest, and take (presumably read) the documents therein.
This will add the first area of Cloakwood to your map.

To get to Chapter 5: It's difficult to determine what exactly triggers Chapter 5, but doing these 3 things ALWAYS works:
1) Kill the boss of the Cloakwood Mines.
2) Open his chests and take (presumably read) the documents therein.
3) Flood the Cloakwood Mines.
If you have done all 3, the "Chapter 5" blurb will play, and the bridge to BG City will be open for crossing. If you find otherwise, you have a serious bug.

It is unwise to use cheats to get around any of the major plot steps. The only time I would suggest doing so is when you KNOW that there has been a bug, and you must take steps to correct it. (Meaning: Don't hack your very first game all to hell just because you THINK you should be able to go somewhere, but can't.)

To find the bandit camp (I think that's your problem)

In Beregost there is a mage on the second floor after you have cleared out the Nashkel Mines. Comfront him and get the info about the bandit camp. (and it will be placed on the world map)

Alternatively - In both Larswood and Peldvale there are a 'bandit chief'. Talk to either of them and say that you want to join them - then you'll be 'teleported' to the candit camp

My bad. 'Twas my fault for assuming you'd found Tranzig. But if you'd done the other thing I said (and Six said and a few other people said...) and read the notes, you would've found out where Tranzig was staying, and the Bandit camp would be opened. [img]tongue.gif[/img] !

Don't let a thing slip you by in this game, especially items. Right-click on every item in your inventory to make sure you're not going to drop or sell something important. (Or, at least, before you know what it is...)

And beware of the city of Baldur's Gate. You think you're having problems now...hoo boy...
