I think I have a problem in my game's installation. I didn't like the way I started so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Even before I uninstalled, however, I still had this problem.

When I go into the crypt, I go down the circular stairs and end up in this big room with a closed door at the far end. The first time I entered the crypt, the entrance had a closed door to this room also, but it just opened as I approached. The far door, however, will not open. All the walkthrough's talk take place after this door. Am I screwed or am I just missing something?

Check the side walls, you will find a lever that will open the other door!
